How long does a head ache last after a broken nose?

Question

I broke my nose on March 14th, and I have had a horrible head ache that only goes away if I push downward on the skin on my forehead and then it feels like it relaxes it, other wise the head ache starts in between my eyes and goes up to the top of my head in a straight line. It is not a pounding head ache, just an irritating one that doesn't seem to want to go way. The head ache did not start until March 14th after my dog head butted me in my nose.

Dear fwinterIt is unusual to have headaches more than 2 weeks after nasal fracture but if you developed a deviated septum, you might have secondary issues from that. You chould see an ENT or a plastic surgeon in consultation.

Headaches can occur for several weeks or months after broken nose, depending upon the severity of the trauma. It is best to have an examination by an ENT/facial plastic surgeon to examine the internal and external portion of the nose and document the degree of the severity. Straightening the nose can also be accomplished with a rhinoplasty,  while a septoplasty would help straighten out the septum if it's been fractured and deviated as well from the injury.

It is unusual to have a headache more than 2 weeks after nasal trauma.  Consult with a Plastic Surgeon as soon as possible for an exam.
