I am in need of a sinus surgery from chronic sinusitis and a deviated septum. While we are at it I thought we could add a rhinoplasty to make the tip of my round nose look better. Can a plastic surgeon do the sinus part of the surgery as well as the rhinoplasty? Or should I just stick to my ENT doctor?
Answer: Sinus surgery and rhinoplasty I am not sure if you really need sinus surgery or just septoplasty surgery. General plastic surgeons often perform septoplasties but sinus surgery is just done by someone board certified in ENT/Otolaryngology. If you truly need sinus surgery and rhinoplasty please consult someone experienced on both and board certified in Facial Plastic Surgery and ENT. I wrote one of the first book chapters in how to perform both at the same time and have been doing this for 25 years.

Answer: Dual Sinus Surgery/Rhinoplasty Yes, it is indeed possible and even advisable to have both a sinus surgery and rhinoplasty done at the same time should both procedures be necessary. If they are done simultaneously, you will only have to be placed under anesthesia a single time and will only have to go through downtime/recovery once.
