Pixel and Erbium Yag Laser for Ice Pick Acne Scars?

My doctor suggested that I do Pixel laser over my whole face and then the Erbium Yag laser on my ice pick scars (cheek area).How effective is this approach? Will this improve my skin by 50%? Is there a possibility of skin discoloration being that the Erbium is only done over a certain area?

Thanks for your question.  Either of those approaches would be helpful - hard to say whether you can expect 50% improvement, but a series might give you the best results.  Microneedling with or without radiofrequency can also be useful for scars, and some people like the TCA cross method for specific acne scars.  Ask your dermatologist for their best recommendations and best of luck!

The Erbium laser is an excellent choice for acne scars. I will often stack 6 to 12 at a high frequency. It is very deep but the results are phenomenal and as a plastic surgeon, I am comfortable dealing with the postoperative care.
