As swelling dissipates palpability of the tissue expander increases. The expander as it is filled becomes more firm and at times more projected.

Hello!  There are no issues of keeping tissue expanders in for at least this period of time. It is actually common to have them in at least this long for those who undergo chemotherapy and/or radiation. Best wishes!

The average size of tissue expanders depends on the patient's chest width. The average weekly fill is about 50 cc.

Deciding between round and shaped implants - depends on the look that you are going for.  Teardrop implants may have a more natural look, round implants have the simplicity of being all round so you don't have to worry about them moving / spinning.
