Question

I foolishly tried a regime of salicylic acid to treat a mole. The mole seemingly disappeared however...this remains. It's been a week since I've stopped treatment and I cover it with neosporin and vasaline daily. But the redness hasn't subsided much if at all.

Yes, I don't recommend trying to remove moles yourself. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for wound care. Moles are removed with lasers, radiowave or shave. Any subsequent scarring can be improved with lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
