I know it could take three months for Spironolactone to work but will I see any results right away?

Although it is common to quote 3 months for spironolactone to start working, patients have often told me that they noticed it starting to work before then.  Often in about a month; however, it can take several months to reach its full potential.

Any treatment for acne can take 6 to 8 weeks before you might see any improvement. However, many patients can see results very quickly. All you can do is hope you are in that group. If you have a special reason for quick clearing, such as an upcoming wedding or photoshoot, there are ways to get quick results, but that type of treatment is very short lived.                      jlr

I would say 3 months, but frequently patients report good outcomes after 4 weeks, especially on higher doses. I often combine spiro with a retinoid like adapelene or tazoretene, plus or minus a short course of antibiotics. Blue light (or blue and red) can also help, especially if you have pustular acne.
