Hello. I noticed you wrote in several months ago. Have you tried Finasteride? Are you happy with the results? If you have not taken any action after asking your question, I suggest you see a reputable hair loss expert. Best wishes to you.Dr. T
Great question. I don't know which Finasteride studies are you talking about. No, the results are not the same of Finasteride 1 mg vs .25 mg. I will trust the Merck studies. There is a 1999 Merck study that compared Finasteride 5 mg vs I mg vs 0.5 mg and .25 mg vs placebo and one of the results showed that the patients on Finasteride 1 mg had 18% more hair count vs .25 mg. But and I don't know why, the patients on Finasteride low dosage had more "Adverse Events" than the high dosage. Also, the study showed minimal difference in the hair counts of Finasteride 5 mg vs 1 mg. I have been recommending Finasteride I mg or 0.25 mg daily to my patients for many years with very, very few adverse events and great results to stable the hair loss and hair regrowth.
The 1mg dosage of Finasteride is the most studied with the most amount of data. 1mg is the recommended amount to use for the best results possible. Less than 1mg is used by patients who experience any type of side effects.
Different people respond differently from the dosage of finasteride. The original Merck study shows that the 1mg dose, across a wide group of men, was the most effective dose. A bell curve clearly exists for dosage
Hello and thank you for your question. .25mg of Finasteride is approximately 50% as effective as a full dose. Of course this would be up to your doctors determination as to how much is sufficient for you. Best wishes.Dr. T
HGH is not a solution for hair growth or retention. Quite the opposite. Better the quality of HGH and higher the dose will equate to higher amounts of hair loss. Warmly, Arbella Sarkis, MD
I cannot provide a formal assessment without seeing you in my clinic. Using a dermal roller will help stimulate a response on the scalp, but there are better treatment options. In my practice I recommend the use of microneedling with PRP, sometimes in combination with minoxidil and finasteride...
