3 days post BA, I hear a sloshing squishy sound when pressing under my left breast. Should I be concerned?

Thanks for your question.  It's not unusual to hear odd sounds or feel unusual sensations in the early healing phase after surgery.  If this persists I'd still recommend contacting your surgeon to discuss your concerns, to ensure you are healing normally.

Hi and thanks for your question. This noise can be from the antibiotic irrigation solution used during surgery. This will subside in a few days. I recommend calling your surgeon if you have any questions regarding your procedure. Best of luck and congratulations on your recent procedure. 

Dear  lindsay1210,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. Those sounds can be caused by seroma. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Thank you for your question.  It is normal to have a mixture of air and fluid under the skin at your surgical site and in the surrounding areas. It typically resolves over a few days to weeks.  If it is getting worse or become red and hot, see you PS.Best Wishes!

Hello Lindsay. You are experiencing a common concern that many breast augmentation patients have. No need to be concerned. This is caused because of swelling and sometimes even air is in the tissue (called subcutaneous air). It can settle in the upper or lower abdomen because this area is below the surgical site, causing sloshing, popping, or crackling sounds. It should subside within the first week, but can remain for possibly up to a few weeks. Sleeping elevated on your back 45 degrees for the first week can help. Continue with your surgeons post-operative care recommendations and call for any changes. Happy healing.

This squishy sound is the mixture of air and water in the space around the breast implant. This is completely normal and will resolve on its own in a week or two. Congratulations on your surgery.
