Is this permanent damage from Erbium laser? Is there any treatment that will help? (Photos)

I had a fairly aggressive Erbium laser treatment 12 weeks ago. I had no fine lines in this area prior to laser. My skin is now covered in these lines and extremely shiny. Is this permanent damage? Is there any treatment or will this resolve on its own? The aesthetician indicated she had never seen this condition after laser tx

Your photo does not suggest any permanent damage caused by the laser. It’s hard to tell the result without a before photo, but the photo is consistent with what I would expect 12 weeks after erbium laser resurfacing.  Erbium is a very Good laser for resurfacing as it is very specific target for water called a chromophore

Based on the 1 posted photo your results are typical of too aggressive Erbium laser peeling. Use of intensive moisterizers and possible skin enhancing injections, recommend SkinVive. To make an assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. Without knowing what your skin look like before the procedure it’s hard to give you an assessment. It looks like you have a baseline of Chronic sun exposure causing fine wrinkles of your skin.
Skin color changes can take 12 to 18 months after the treatments. As time goes on expect less changes.
I don’t know of any treatments that will reverse the impact of a laser treatment. There are a lot of variables to take in the consideration. Sometimes when results downtown out as well as patients had hoped there isn’t much you can do. Generally, the purpose of these treatments is to give a long-term benefit, but when the treatments create undesirable outcomes, those two tend to be long lasting.
Some skin treatments can cause a loss of subcutaneous fat, especially in the superficial dermal layer, causing an aging effect.
These are some of the risks patients take one day undergo these procedures. Being in the hands of his efficiently, talented, and experienced provider is paramount.
