Discoloration, darkening, burning sensation, itchy red bumpy rashes after chemical peel, advice? 3 days p.o. (photos)

Thank you for your question about chemical peels.
There are several different factors that can affect the out come of chemical peels.  1.  The technique of the person doing the peel.  Be sure you are seeing an experienced provider.  2.  The state of the skin prior to the peel.  It is advised with most peels that you stop using some topical skin products such as retinoic acid.  3.  The care of the skin post procedure.  It is very important to follow the skin care instructions given by your provider.  A couple of important directions are to avoid the sun, avoid vigorous exercise (sweating), and do not scrub or "peel" the skin as it begins to peel.  The discoloration it appears you are having is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.  It is the product of irritation or inflammation of your skin post peel.  I would advise you visit the skin care provider who administered the peel to determine if you need something to resolve the inflammation, and something to help suppress the pigment. 
To be sure, see two or more experienced, licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Hello!  I'm not sure which peel you used, however, the peels I apply to my patients will result in some brown spots which will peel away revealing new skin underneath.  Some redness is also normal.  Important things to do now is to use plenty of a gentle moisturizer such as cetaphil, apply mineral sunscreen, avoid PICKING at those brown spots.  Good Luck!
