I had nasolabial filler done on Sept. 23rd (one syringe of RHA) and I'm scheduled for a dental cleaning/ exam on the 28th. Is it ok to have this dental cleaning? Is there a risk of infection/filler moving?
Answer: Dental visit You should be fine to have your dental cleaning five days after your filler treatment for the nasolabial area. The risk of a related infection would be minimal. I've included a video about dermal fillers that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Is It Safe to Have a Dental Cleaning Shortly After Nasolabial Filler? Thank you for your question. It's generally advisable to wait at least 1-2 weeks after receiving dermal fillers before undergoing any dental procedures, including cleanings. This precaution helps minimize the risk of infection and ensures that the filler has adequately settled into place. Given that you had your nasolabial filler done on September 23rd and your dental cleaning is scheduled for the 28th, this falls within a 5-day window. While it's likely to be safe, there is a slight risk of the filler moving or an increased chance of infection due to the manipulation of the facial area during the dental cleaning. To be on the safe side, I recommend rescheduling your dental appointment to allow a full 1-2 weeks post-filler treatment. This will provide ample time for the filler to stabilize and reduce any potential risks. If rescheduling is not possible, please inform your dentist about your recent filler treatment so they can take extra precautions during your cleaning. Best regards,

Answer: Dermal Filler Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin in Winnetka and Chicago. This is a great question. Having a dental cleaning and exam shortly after getting nasolabial filler is generally considered safe, especially since you’re a few days post-treatment. However, there are some precautions to keep in mind. It’s advisable to inform your dentist about your recent filler treatment, as they may want to take extra care during the cleaning process. While the risk of infection is relatively low, there is always a small chance, especially if any invasive procedures are involved. Additionally, you should avoid any strenuous manipulation around the treated area for a week or so to minimize the risk of filler displacement. I hope this helps and best of luck!
