You definitely need the attachments to help move the teeth in different directions.Unfortunately, the attachments have discolored, but they can be cleaned up and the fronts of the teeth polished to minimize the appearance of them. It will not hurt your teeth, it is more a cosmetic issue. Call your orthodontist and see what they say!

I am sorry to hear that your teeth are covered by the adhesive used.
The adhesive won't be causing any damage on the teeth but the rough surface on the tooth can be packing more plaque and food. Therefore it is best to address it with your provider and they can clean it right away. 
As fas as the missing buttons/attachments they need to be replaced at the time go your next visit. The attachments are designed to allow certain amount of force to be applied in some pressure points and not having them in the mouth can compromise the tooth movement.

It is not normal to have yellow attachments unless you had something to eat after that caused the discolouration. I have seen attachments turn blue or red for a short while after you have had raspberries or blueberries. I would contact your orthodontist right away and bring this to their attention. Hope you can get this resolved soon.
