Keloids after breast lift/augmentation - any suggestions? Any lasers available for melanated skin? (Photo)

Keloid scars are characterized by their growth potential and increased degree of inflammation within the skin. Unlike non-inflamed scars, keloids have the potential for growth beyond the original footprint of injury. I have been treating keloids for more than three decades. Quite commonly revision surgeries, as in this case, results in recurrences, which is why I seldom ever recommend it. Assuming an appropriate algorithm for ratcheting up the concentrations and the amounts of the steroid injected has already been done, then there are additional steps that may be taken, as, for example, the addition of an algorithm for the addition of 5-FU and/or the pretreatment with cryotherapy to soften the keloid and/or the the use of fanning technique of injections to ensure that the anti-inflammatory is dispersed more evenly within the keloid scars. You would be wise to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermaologist scar specialist. Hope this helps. Best of luck.
