i’m a 21 year old male and recently around three weeks ago i’ve noticed some red bumps along with red bald patches infront of my scalp surrounding the pimples. i don’t know if it’s from itching the area but i’ve just been stressing if it’s AGA related or not.
Answer: Redness and Patchy Hair Loss At 21, it’s understandable to be concerned about hair loss, especially when you notice red bumps and bald patches on your scalp. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA), or male pattern baldness, usually causes gradual thinning without redness or bumps, so what you're describing doesn’t quite fit the typical AGA pattern. The red bumps and patchy hair loss might indicate another condition, such as folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicles) or alopecia areata (an autoimmune condition that causes patchy hair loss). Itching and redness could be a sign of scalp irritation, which might be caused by scratching, an infection, or even a reaction to a product. I recommend keeping the area clean and avoiding any further scratching. It’s a good idea to see a dermatologist to properly diagnose the issue and determine if treatment is necessary, especially since conditions like folliculitis can be treated to prevent further hair loss.

Answer: Red patches on the scalp -> A sign you should see a dermatologist From the photo, I would highly recommend you to see a dermatologist. It could seborrheic dermatitis or types of alopecia especially with the pimples around. The redness is a sign of inflammation which is not common in androgenetic alopecia (AGA).

Answer: Red bumps and patches No, “bald patches infront of my scalp surrounding the pimples” is sure not part of AGA. Of course you could have AGA too (that would require a proper examination) but you’ll want to see an experienced doctor for an up close examination to determine the cause of the redness and bumps as you describe.
