Some of my hairs are finer than others. Is this a sign of balding? (Photos)

When I shed my hairs, a few are noticeably finer than the rest. I heard that this is a sign of balding. Is this true? If so, how can I confirm this and what should I do to treat it?

Yes, finer hairs can be an early sign of androgenetic alopecia (AGA), commonly known as male pattern baldness. As hair follicles begin to shrink in response to hormones like DHT (dihydrotestosterone), the hair they produce becomes thinner and shorter over time, a process called miniaturization. This is a key indicator of balding.
However, a few finer hairs on their own don’t necessarily confirm AGA. Hair thickness can vary naturally, and factors like stress, diet, or scalp health could also contribute to shedding finer hairs.

Dear Genius680723,Early stage of hair loss is thinning(miniaturizing) so probably they are falling together with thick hair and this can be also regular/seasonal falling. If you think there are more than 50 hairs/day falling I recommend you to go to a doctor to check and speak about possible treatment options.
