Botox side effects? 3 days later I have a head cold type sickness. Do you think these are related to the botox?

Thank you for your question in regards to Botox. Each patient has a different response to injections. You may have felt light headed from at actual injection pain. Follow up with your provider who injected you to discuss your concerns. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.

It sounds like you had more of a vasovagal reaction and has nothing to do with the botox it self.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I agree, this is more likely a "vasovagal reaction" or the sensation of passing out. what happens is our brain, in the response to an injury(such as a needle poke) can drop the blood pressure to the heart causing you to feel faint. That's why you did the right thing by resting and drinking water. Dr. Miguel

The most common adverse effects from Botox are usually injection related side effects such as pain, redness, swelling, bruising or headaches.  With that said, there have been some rare reports of flu-like symptoms after Botox injections in large doses for neurological conditions such as migraines. With the low number of units you had, I believe it is most likely a coincidence that you developed an upper respiratory infection. Hope you feel better soon! Dr. Caretti

It is just a coincidence that you developed an upper respiratory infection a few days after you had your Botox treatment.  Botox would not cause the symptoms you describe.

It is likely just a coincidence if you have not had complications with botox before. Complications are generally very rare with Botox however can occur. I would see your doctor to make sure they can advise you further for future use.
