Hello, Thank you for your question. Uncommon side effects include:mild bruising, swelling, pain or numbness at the injection site, or headache. These are all temporary and often resolve within a few days to weeks. As with all skin-injection procedures, there is a slight risk of infection, allergy or hypersensitivity reaction. Eyelid or eyebrow ptosis (drooping): A minor temporary droop of one eyelid or eyebrow may occur in 1 in 5,000 or 10,000 injections. It is temporary and often mild, typically lasting 2-6 weeks, and can be treated with a prescription eye drop. Double vision: Arareside effect of treating the crow’s feet area and is temporary for a few months if occurs. Raredistant side effects (ie. muscle weakness remote to site of injection, difficulty swallowing, speech disturbance, breathing difficulties, cardiovascular events) have been reportedvery rarelyin patients treated with high doses of BOTOX®for medical reasons and in patients (generally children) with serious pre-existing medical conditions such as cerebral palsy. Most common side effects include, but are not limited to: redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching. These reactions are short lasting and often resolve within 7 days. If you are taking acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin) , anti-inflammatories (e.g. ibuprofen, Advil) or Ginkgo Biloba, there may be an increased risk of bruising or bleeding. Alcohol may also increase your risk of bruising. Rareadverse reactions include discoloration, necrosis/vascular compromise at the site of injection, abscess, granuloma or hypersensitivity. In the case of vascular compromise, the risk is seenonly within the first 3 daysafter injection and immediate medical attention to treat this complication can reverse this effect. The incidence of vascular complications are approximately 1 in 10, 000 (delayed compressive event) and 1 in 100, 000 (vascular embolic event). Cosmetically undesirable results may occur. This can often be adjusted and treated with a medication that can dissolve the injected product. However, unknown results may occur as in any medical procedure. As with all skin-injection procedures, there is a risk of infection, allergy or hypersensitivity reaction. I’d recommend speaking with your skilled and qualified injector for full details. Take care.
