Hello, thank you for your question and for including a photo. Laser hair reduction is a very successful option for hair reduction in these areas. It is recommended that you do 6-8 treatments 4 weeks apart. You will have significant hair reduction in the area treated, but it will never be 100%. You may need to do occasional touch ups throughout the year. The important thing that you shop is that the facility you decide to use has the proper wavelength for your skin type. It appears that you have a darker skin type and it will be necessary to be treated with a YAG 1064nm wavelength for safest treatments.Good Luck!
Thank you for your questions. The number of sessions that a patient will need for hair removal will vary on the laser system used and the type of hair the patient has. Typically a series of 4-8 treatments may be needed. How laser hair removal works is by triggering the pigment of the follicle and the growth stage of the hair. Laser hair removal is not a permanent treatment for unwanted hair but it will slow down the hair growth. Most patients will also require maintenance treatments depending on the regrowth of the hair. This may take months or even years.
In my practice, we start with a package of 6 treatments. With your skin type, we would treat you with an ND:YAG laser to be safe. You might need additional treatments, but 6 usually is a good place to start. Laser hair removal is permanent but to be 100% complete will need more treatments. On a positive note, the darker and thicker the strands of hair, the better the results! Good luck!
