There are tiny holes/pin pricks all over face 4 weeks after microneedling. They are not sun / pigmentation marks. I followed all after care instructions correctly. One thing I’m thinking is that I was a little run down when I had the treatment and my body couldn’t repair properly after? Or needle length too long. Looks like open pores but it’s not in the areas she avoided and I never had open pores. Will my skin go back to smooth like before? Will the pin holes go?
Answer: Permanent damage vs Healing skin? Its hard to determine without seeing pictures before and after treatment. I would return back to the facility were treatment was performed and inquire about the length of healing time and post treatment care. Here are some side effects to keep in mind. Because micro-needling induces collagen production, Localized irritation WITH soreness after this treatment. This should after run its course after a few minutes to hours. UV sensitivity, dryness and redness can occur. This can last last 1-3 days. Always apply medical grade sunscreen this will help greatly in your healing phase.

Answer: Holes after microneedling Thanks for the question. The small needle holes after a microneedling treatment usually do not last longer than a few days. It is strange to have them this far out from your treatment. I would suggest getting examined by whoever did your treatment, as topical treatments such as hydroquinone can help pigment changes, and would be safe to use at this point after your treatment. Good luck!

Answer: Before and after picture will be helpful- Pattern girds after Microneedling Hard to say without pictures and lighting - 90% of these cases will fade within 3-6 months. If they don't easy fix, small beam NA lasers 1-3 sessions will fix this. This is why its important to assess your skin type before any microneedling sessions. I have had to fix many grids and skin needle holes from both energy based microneedling and RF microneedling every week! Prudent for the provider to understand who is appropriate, and also how to treat potential side effect IF they occur. Microneedling has come a long way over the past few years and can help skin via several methods. Firstly it releases cytokines and growth factors in the epidermis and dermis- the top and bottom layers of your skin. This in turn remodels scars and the dermal layer of the skin. Additionally needles can break up scars themselves. This leads to new collagen formation. Microneedling is both user dependent and method driven. Simple needles can be used, growth factors can be added after the procedure, including PRP, or controlled heating during the procedure. This controlled heating is delivered via RF, and is called RF microneedling. RF can then be delivered via insulated or insulated needles. Even the energy level, depths, density, pulse duration and so many other variables can be controlled. This together with the added benefits of growth factor infusion makes this one of the most complex procedures in procedural dermatology. I use everything from Dermapen, though to newer generation insulated and non-insulated devices including INFINI micro-needling radiofrequency, Intensif and others. Newer generation devices can provide an added advantage in some, but not all patients. Like most procedures, its 80% skill level of the specialist and 20% dependent on the brand of the energy device- microneedling system. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
