Hi:Bone grafting is a good option when you are extracting a tooth in order to preserve as much bone as possible.Best,Dr. Maddahi
Hi and thank you for your question. The answer to your question depends on what you want to do in the area of #14. If you just want the tooth removed and don't care about getting the site reconstructed with an implant or even a bridge or partial denture then the answer is no. The recommended thing to do is to preserve the site or bone volume in the area in case of doing an implant later, a bridge or even a partial denture. Imaging you pull several of your teeth one by one and don't do any grafting, over the years your are going to loose all the bone in those areas and then what. No bone means, no support for implants or dentures, but most of all how are you going to function (eat, speak) and let's not talk about the support of your facial tissues( you are going to look years older than you might be because of loss of the bone structure).Preserving your bone is a great idea even if you decide not to do anything!Good Luck , I hope you make the right decision!Dr. Juan C.ArroyoOral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Do not always need the bone graft, go with your dr to see what he recommends, and also the treatment that you are going to perform.Good luck! :)

Hi and thank you for your question. In reality you could do it both way depending on the clinical and radiographic presentation. In most part is best to do everything you can at the same time, because every time you open an area you loose bone. Best recommendation is to get a 3D...
