Is microneedling recommended for my skin (rosacea) and the nose? (Photos)

I have rosacea, but I also have large pores and very textured skin. I'm interested in receiving a microneedling treatment. Thank you.

Professional microneedling for treating enlarged pores, texture problems and even fine "broken blood vessels,," which often accompany rosacea, has been used successfully and safely for years for creating micro wounds that heal with new, native collagen and elastic fiber synthesis.  Since it creates microscopic channels in the skin, microneedling is also an excellent means for delivering to the lower layers of the skin anti-redness agents, such as tranexamic acid, vasoconstrictors and even Botox. Make sure that your treatment is performed by a professional, preferably a board certified aesthetic physician, since rosacea is a medical condition that requires supervision by a trained medical professional, such as a dermatologist. Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

You need proper skincare with skincare lines like faith (specifically the essence serum clay mask and moisture enrich lotion), Restorsea liquid gold and 10x cream, Sente dermal repair cream and 24 hour bio complete serum.  At home peels like emerageskin AERIFY with LED light therapy like lightstim can make a big difference.

In office, redness is treated with

1. vascular lasers (excel v, vbeam, BBL, IPL, Aerolase, yellow laser)

Hello, it is safe to microneedle rosacea skin.  I would not call it a treatment for rosacea but some of my patients notice less redness in the skin post treatment.

Hello and thanks for your question.  Rosacea will not improve with microneedling but it will not worsen either.  Microneedling is a great procedure for large pores and improving skin texture so I would do the treatment for sure.  You may have redness after your treatment for a  longer time than  someone who does not have rosacea, (about 1-2 weeks after).  Hope this helps good luck!
