Swelling after liposuction and fat transfer.

Thank you for your question. Healing after liposuction is usually pretty straight forward.  There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery.  The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens.  It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient. Best is to follow your specific surgeon's instructions for recovery. Thank you for your question. You are very early in the healing stages. Swelling is completely normal at this point and it will go down over the next three months. Continue to stay hydrated and continue to wear your compression garment as this helps with swelling. Give yourself time and be patient during the healing process. Best of luck!

You are in early stages of healing and swelling is very common. Consult your surgeon for post op instructions. I recommend my patients to wear compression garments and Ace wraps in areas where liposuction was done. Good luck!
