I had vaser lipo on my arms and a little on the front of my belly and a dog ear revision 2 days ago.... I want to start lifting weights ASAP ... I didn't asked my ps cause I didn't think about it and now it's Friday night and I'm not Going to be able to ask till Monday. I know I can't pull on my incision obviously but I don't see anything wrong with doing light weights as long as I feel okay.
Answer: How Soon Can You Lift Weights After Vaser Liposuction Some studies show that there is less injury to the body with Vaser than with traditional #liposuction. Recovery from Vaser Liposuction is based on the level of soreness and bruising experienced by the patient. But, it can vary among patients. As with traditional liposuction, there are no large incisions or effect on the muscle and other underlying tissue. Therefore, #healing time may be less than anticipated by most. Therefore, Vaser patients may experience less #pain or discomfort, #swelling (#edema) and bruising post procedure due to the nature of the technique. A quicker #recovery for a patient may be two to three weeks without any strenuous activity. This includes the short period of suggested rest of 12-24 hours soon following the procedure. #Exercise and activity are contingent on how the patient feels. Mild activity is not likely to hinder recovery or healing or create problems with recovery. However, it is recommended to acquire your doctor's permission to do so. Once you begin exercising again, start gently and let your body tell you what it can tolerate. Don’t rush! After one to three days, you should be able to return to work. As I advise my patients, if your work keeps you sedentary, you may return whenever you feel up to it. If your work is strenuous, wait until your work activity does not cause any superficial pain. Some employers will modify a person’s job duties so they can back sooner, but without physical activity. Our office can provide our patients with a note stating they are not to engage in strenuous activity for a specified period of time. The note will not disclose what procedure they have underwent. Therefore, you may have to request a similar note from your surgeon if you are not independently employed. If you have concerns about your healing, or pain that you question to be unusual, it is important to call your plastic surgeon to discuss these further asked to be examined.

Answer: Returning to Exercise After Liposuction -- VASER HI Definition or Standard Tumescent? Returning to Exercise After Liposuction -- VASER HI Definition or Standard Tumescent? It all depends on your physicians protocol and the type of procedure performed. Standard tumescent liposuction often allows you to be back to the gym in 10-14 days. However, Hi Definition VASER Contouring with chest surgery and/or muscular defining and fat transfer has much more downtime. I have my patients out of the gym for 4 weeks minimum and double compression with foam and standard garments. I suggest seeing a well trained body sculpting physician who has a practice dedicated to hi definition and revision procedures. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Post-lipo Exercise For the first 3 weeks after liposuction, its a good idea to be walking, moving and staying active but generally not a good idea to strain muscles and significantly increase vascular demands of recently traumatized muscles as they will remain swollen longer and will not clear lactic acid build up efficiently. I recommend that you wait until you have specific instructions from your surgeon before initiating weight lifting.

Answer: Exercise after liposuction It's generally considered bad form to give post operative advice for someone else's patient.I will simply share with you what I tell my patients.I encourage my patients to get back to normal activities as soon as possible.I asked my patients not to engage in activity that causes discomfort after surgery. Most patients are ready to engage in low impact activity within a few days. High impact activities such as running typically take 2 to 3 weeks.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
