The "triangle of beauty" begins with a wide base which is the temple region. This area takes a lot of filler in most cases. I often prefer to use your own fat to fill this area. Most HA fillers can be used but be prepared to have several syringes required for each side.
Filler for the temple area is a great option. As we aged,we lose fat, muscle and bone so our faces start becoming more like a skull, specially if you are thin. HA fillers are a fantastic option as long as they are injected deep. Voluma,Vollure and Restalyne Lyft are all great options.
Thank you for your question. The best filler for the temple area is a filler that has a high "G prime", which means it give a good lift. Juvederm Voluma and Restylane Lyft are good reversible fillers used for deep injections, and both have been used with success. More superficial injections are sometimes needed to enhance the contour of the temples and the transition between the temples and the brow area, then a softer filler should be used instead. The use of a combination of fillers is also very common to enhance the features of the upper face.Safety also depends on adequate technique of the injector. So find an experienced plastic surgeon that perform injection on a regular basis to do your procedure. Hope this helps! Best, Dr Miotto
Hi,In general, hyaluronic acid fillers are thought to be very safe as there is no need for allergy testing and they can easily be dissolved with hyaluronidase. There are different types, in my practice I prefer Voluma. The next consideration is the depth of injection, I prefer to inject deep (over the bone) and consider this the safest technique. A blunt tipped cannula can also be used to inject more superficially and this adds an added layer of safety. All the best,Mehdi Sina, MD
Radiesse, Juvederm, Restylane and sculptra are good for the temples. Fat is an alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question. I prefer using hyaluronic acid fillers in the temple area like Voluma, or restyalne lyft because with these fillers you can dissolve them if there is an issue. Precaution and technique is always important with any dermal filler though, especially in this area so make sure you go to an experienced injector. Best of luck to you
Dermal filler products that are FDA approved and made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural component of your skin, is a preferred choice and recommended among many injectors for your area of concern. I encourage you to do a full facial evaluation first with a board certified physician. Thank you for your question and good luck!
My preferred filler for the temples is Sculptra although I also use Restylane Lyft and Restylane is this area. The filler should be placed deep on the bone to avoid injury to the blood vessels and intravascular injection of the filler.
Holly,There are three types of filler classes that are most often used in the temple region - hyaluronic acid (HA), adipose tissue (fat), and poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra.) Voluma, a type of HA, and as the name implies, provides excellent volume restoration to the temple region. Injection with a micro-cannula (blunt tip) results in less bruising, less risk of injury to the nerve that controls forehead motion, and overall less discomfort when injecting. Fat injection can also be considered if you are looking for a more permanent solution; however, fat must first be harvested from another portion of the body or an exogenous (outside) source of fat can also be used. Sculptra, unlike, HA or fat fillers, volumizes by stimulating your own tissue to produce collagen by creating a local reaction in the skin. As a result, it usually takes longer (months) to see noticeable changes and may require multiple rounds of injection especially with deep hallowing. Ultimately, each filler class has its own merits. An evaluation with an expert injector is recommended so that you can achieve the best yet safe outcome for your desired look.
Voluma is the product that I have found works best and lasts the longest for filling the temple hollows. It is a great treatment to restore a more youthful look.
Facial asymmetry and volume loss can be corrected with dermal fillers. You have a descent amount of volume loss in the midface/cheeks which could be corrected using a collagen stimulating filler, Sculptra.
