3 weeks post op arm lipo. Could someone give me a timeline of when I should start seeing this soften?

I want to thank every doctor on here who has responded to my questions so far, you all are great. 3 weeks post lipo to upper arm, areas treated are hard. My surgeon said this is normal for the amount of fat removed.I am finally pain free and I was hoping someone could give me a timeline of when I should start seeing this soften and my results clearer. I see some but was hoping I could get a more detailed answer than 6 months.I am massaging the areas but am open to any other ideas to help.

Dear momofone889The waiting game is difficult and stressul. What if it doesnt....The fact is that there is a consistent pattern of progress after liposuction. In my experience, the area at 3 weeks is beginning to soften... you  will often find a sudden change around postop week 6-7  with decrease in swelling and softenning and then a more slow resolution up to the 3-4th month.  Then a very slow and gradual change for the next 6 months to reach your final outcome at 10 to 12 months. Its hard to wait but I hope you will reach your desired goal!

I think you'll start to see some softening immediately. Massage however I think will aggravate the condition not improve it.
