Hello and thank you for your question. It would be advisable to discontinue any products containing Retin A seven days prior to your Fraxel laser treatment. You may resume using them seven days after your treatment. Retin A products can interfere with the body’s natural healing processes during your recovery from a laser treatment. However, these products can help facilitate healing and minimize pigmentation issues after the first week of recovery. For more information, schedule and in-person consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon in your area. Good luck! Jacqueline T. Cheng
I would discontinue use of products with Retin-A at least 7 days prior to your laser treatment and resuming 7 days after. Also, I recommend adding microneedling/prp with lasers to get better outcomes. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question! If you are using the full system, I would recommend stopping the Retin A for a week prior and restart this a few days after treatment. Retin A can impact healing and skin repair thus we always stop it prior to any aggressive laser treatment. Laser hair removal can cause pigmentation due to the cooling products used during the treatment and also due to the heat created during treatment. NuDerm will actually help you in recovery and minimize the risk of additional pigmentation. Best of luck!
