Can I use Benzoyl Peroxide on my breasts?

Thank you for your question. Acne on the chest after breast augmentation is not uncommon. At three months post-surgery, you will have no difficulties using an acne lotion that contains benzoyl peroxide on your chest. This should have no impact on your breast implants whatsoever.

Thank you for your question.   You should always check with your surgoen, but I suspect you will be fine.  The skin on your chest is thinner and has less blood flow than your face, so be careful how often and how much product you put on the area.   Good luck.

Technically, yes you can use it on your breasts. You are familiar with the fact that it can bleach clothing, so you know to expect that. I would also suggest that you get a professional bra fitting by a specialty bra store. (Not the ones that advertise all over television. Look for a specialty store with trained fitters and multiple different makers of bras.) Some times people wear bras that force the breasts together and this can lead to breakouts between the breasts. I don't know if this is you or not, but it is worth exploring.

Congratulations on your breast augmentation!  I'm sorry to hear you are having skin problems on your new breasts -- was this something you dealt with prior to surgery?  I wonder if your skin is irritated by something new you are doing or wearing (surgical bra?).  If it is acne, you would be fine to use the same topical products you use on your face.  Follow up with your surgeon and see if he/she has any other suggestions.  Best of luck in your continued recovery.

Thank you for your question.  Yes, it is okay for you to use any type of ointment on your chest 3 months after your breast surgery.  Facial acne creams also work well on the chest skin and other parts of the body.Best of luck,Dr. Peter Newen
