Hi, I've had this marking on my inner thigh for a couple of months now and I was studying cancers specifically Melanomas in one of my classes in school. I did not think much of it until now. But I was just wondering if a dermatologist can take a look on it and let me know what they think. I am going to get it checked out, but have a bit of anxiety right now because of it. It's about 1/3 of an inch.

The point of a shave biopsy is to determine whether a mole is bad or not. Its purpose is not to remove the mole entirely. You will just follow this pigmented spot like you do your other moles and if it continues to grow and look abnormal it will be biopsied again on your next visit.
