I am 10 days Post Op, and I have lost 5 lbs. I would like to lose 5 to 10 more pounds, and I was told by my Dr. before my surgery that if I lose weight after my surgery, that I would lose the lift that I got with the surgery.

Answer: The Effect of Weight Loss After Surgery Hi, This is a fairly common question. Generally speaking, a 5 pound weight loss (or gain) will not make a difference in the outcome of your surgery. When the weight change creeps up to 10 or more pounds we may start to see a difference. I would suspect that some of your weight loss is related to the reduction in the breast so you should be fine with another 5 pounds. I hope this helps. Dr Bev

Answer: Weight lose They say for every 20 pounds in body weight loss there is a pound in breast but everyone is different. I have some patients that say their breasts never decrease in size with weight loss. That said obviously weight loss after surgery may adversely affect any result and that is why I advise patients to lose weight before surgeryDr Corbin
