I am 10 days post op, and I am having a terrible time finding a sports bra that doesn't ride up or sits right on my reddened area where my stitches are and it is causing me 24 hour pain, I have stitches that go around to my back, as I had liposuction done there too. I have not bought cheap sports bras either.
Answer: Post op bra Every doctor has different post op instructions so you should ask your surgeon what would work for you. The dressings vary from patient to patient. Some patients may be placed in a sports bra; others will wear a stabilizing elastic support strap. Your doctor will decide after surgery and in subsequent weeks, which dressing will suit your needs and how long you would need to wear them.

Answer: Support garment after breast reduction I typically require my patients to wear a compression garment provided by our office for a minimum of two weeks or until your swelling has decreased and incision lines are closed. I would check with your PS, then go to a medical supply store and buy a breast compression garment..I do have my patients switch to a sports bra eventually. It sounds like you are not ready to do that.

Answer: A good bra to wear after breast reduction First, I would consult with your surgeon to see if there is reason for your pain and if he or she wants you to wear a specific type of bra. I recommend any bra that feels comfortable. Wire bras will often be too painful for the first two to three weeks. Soft bras are usually the best for the first two to three weeks.

Answer: Post-op sports bras Thank you for your question. First off, I recommend you check with your plastic surgeon to see if they specifically want you to avoid wearing a bra. I typically have all of my breast reduction patients in a medical grade bra for several weeks after surgery for support and compression. If your doctor has not provided you with one, there may be a reason. If they are fine with you wearing a bra, ask if they have a preference. We use Marena ComfortWear. Hope you find this information helpful. Good luck!
