Maxillofacial surgery or Craniofacial surgery ?

1)What is the difference between a maxillofacial surgeon compared to a craniofacial surgeon? When one is considering jaw bone reduction for aesthetics/cosmetic surgery OR considering jaw implant augmentation for aesthetic/cosmetic results(not functional purposes); would it be a maxillofacial or craniofacial surgeon who will have the training for aesthetic jaw bone reduction or augmentatin?

Both surgeons specialize in surgery of the facial skeleton.

Both surgeons specialize in surgery of the facial skeleton. The craniofacial surgeons emphasize cranial vault surgery. In the US most maxillofacial surgeons emphasize on the tooth bearing bones of the face. Most craniofacial surgeons are also plastic surgeons who have considerable background in aesthetic surgery and assessing facial contour and attractiveness. Maxillofacial surgeons come from a dental background

Best to see a Maxillofacial surgeon who typo ally deals with the bones of the face and who does surgery in that area for that specific reason on a frequent basis.
