What is this dent in the middle of my forehead and how can it be fixed without injections? (Photos)

I have had it about 5 years but it seems to be getting worse. On the right side it seems to be swollen or a not there but doesn’t seem that bad on the left side. Any way to fix this without getting any injected? If not, what do I need done? I am very insecure and it’s very noticeable.

Hello, thank you for your question. I do not think this is of any health concern, It is not uncommon for individuals to have symmetric dents on the forehead. There is very little fat under the skin on the forehead which makes it easier to see contours under the skin. Neurotoxins can sometimes change forehead contours by temporarily immobilizing some parts of the frontalis while leaving other parts intact.

This contour could be related to muscle activity in your forehead. I would start with injecting these muscles with a muscle relaxing medication (Botox. Dysport, etc). You will likely see significant improvement within 1-2 weeks.

The "dent" is the area between the frontalis muscles. There are three ways to correct it. First you could place a custom implant. Second, you could inject the area with a filler. Thirdly, you could repeatedly inject the frontalis medially until it atrophies, thus reducing he depth of the depression. The second and third options requires an expert injector. The first requires a surgeon who can fabricate the proper implant. Make sure you choose your physician wisely.
