I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
In my opinion, unless someone has had a comprehensive review of their story, a full examination of their scalp including use of dermoscopy and had blood tests, they have not yet begun to properly investigate their hair loss. One can not really bypass these steps. If my car was making strange, strange noises and blowing black smoke out the back and front, I would likely be told to get a car mechanic to check it over. The fact that I tried to fix it myself by changing the tires, and adding new windshield washing fluid would not alter that opinion. Seek an expert. You dont need to worry about what blood tests tests and you don't need to worry about how to tell the cause just like I don't need to worry about what tests to ask the mechanic to perform. An expert will guide you and explain results to you.
It would be best to see a hair loss specialist who can take a full history and examine your scalp. Lab tests to look for thyroid abnormalities, iron/vitamin d/vitamin b-12 deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, are also helpful. Once a diagnosis is mad, then treatment options can be recommended. Good luck!
Your biggest enemy is the progressive thinning leading to a balding pattern that is not evident at this point in time. The degree of thinning that you are experiencing would suggest that you should see a doctor who most likely will get Bulk Measurements of your hair to determine the degree of the thinning that you may be presently having. If the diagnosis is early genetic hair loss (the most common cause of hair loss in young men and you are probably following your families balding problem), then the best treatment would be the drug finasteride which is highly effective in men of your age and may not only stop the hair loss but possibly reverse it. If you are developing a more advanced balding pattern the best test to get is the HAIRCHECK instrument test which will determine the Bulk Measurements of your hair and this will show, over a one-year time frame, how effective the treatment will be. Once you know this information, then you and your doctor need to develop a MASTER PLAN which will define what you need
No , masturbation does not cause hair loss. The reason of the hair loss may related with factors other than genetic like connective tissue disorders, stress, anemia, lupus, medications, hormonal and seasonal changes, nutritional problems, severe diets, bulimia, protein/calorie deficiency, zinc a...
While minoxidil works for some, the problem with the medicine is that it does not stop hair loss, and the DHT will continue is binding to the hair shaft which will eventually overtake any additional growth caused by the Minoxidil and die, perhaps just slightly later than it would have...
This is a great question and far more complex than it might seem. Yes, Minoxidil could help and yes age is absolutely a factor. Minoxidil becomes even more important to consider with advancing age. Hair thinning as one approaches the 60s and 70s is often less truly androgen driven. The dia...
