About 2 months ago I had radiofrequency mole removal. The wound healed without a scab. I used petroleum jelly to keep it moist and did not expose it to the sun. Now, where the mole once was, have a slightly elevated, shiny patch of skin that is not quite normal-looking in both texture and color versus the surrounding healthy skin. It doesn't look too bad but it's definitely noticeable. Will the texture/color normalize over time? Is this a scar? My doctor will not tell me what settings he used.

Yes, go see a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon, you would likely need a biopsy and a complete skin examination. You should try to get the pathology report of the original lesion removed years ago.

It will be more difficult to visualise a mole if it has been traumatised, but some characteristics should still be present. If you mole has changed at all (change in size, shape, diameter, pigment, ulceration bleeding) than have it checked out.
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Moles can be removed with laser, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
