Dear Helpsky, Ultherapy, because of the heat energy it generates, can produce small amount of fat loss- which the company quantified to be no more than a teaspoon. If the provider follows guideline (not over-zealous with the amount of lines fired), it can be effective in combating facial aging despite its effect on fat. However, I do caution patients who has baseline volume loss to consider other rejuvenating techniques first. 
At home firming devices that I personally use is Tripollar- it is a radio frequency device that I do it over my face and neck. Would it be anywhere near having treatment at a medspa? No. I do it primarily as a massage device. It helps with circulation because of the temperature and it relaxes me. Home devices generally speaking are minimally effective. The more helpful things are probably investing in effective skin care and going to a medspa for additional rejuvenating techolologies.
