How long does it take to get results with Thermitight?

Does the skin tighten right away? In order to prepare for social engagements afterwards would like to know when to expect results?

ThermiTight works by delivering radiofrequency (RF) energy to the collagen in the skin via a small probe. This stimulates the production of new collagen (neocollagenesis) plus tightens the collagen that is there already. Some patients may see a difference shortly after the procedure, particularly if they simultaneously have had fat removed with liposuction. However, neocollagenesis is a slow, yet ongoing process. Most patients begin to notice a difference after a month and then continue to see further tightening for up to a year. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to be evaluated for ThermiTight.

Thermi tight uses radio-frequency (RF) heat to stimulate collagen production and tightening of tissue. Thermi tight RF heat is delivered via a small probe that is inserted under the skin. The area being treated is numbed in preparation for treatment. Swelling and mild bruising is possible following treatment and typically resolves over 1-2 weeks. Tissue tightening is initiated immediately however results continue to improve for 6-12 months post procedure. Allowing adequate time post treatment is advised if concerned about swelling. It takes up to 6 months to see final results with Thermitight. Some patients may see results sooner.  I just saw a 3 month follow-up from ThermiTight to the lower face and neck this morning who already has a great result.

Thank you for the question. As with many of the non-surgical treatments, there are tissue changes that take place gradually over time in order to achieve the desired changes. In the case of ThermiTight for the neck and jowls, the initial results are seen in about 6-8 weeks. However, the full correction is generally not apparent until 4-6 months. In cases with more fatty tissue, this may be even a little longer. It is easy to get frustrated or impatient, but the results are definitely coming! It takes time for the collagen and connective tissue to remodel.

Hi.  Typically, the results evolve over the passage of time, after the Thermi procedure.  It starts to show a result by 6-8 weeks, and usually takes about 3-4 months to see a significant result, with some patients continue to slowly improve for a few more months thereafter.  Results may be slower to appear or less dramatic in patients who are older (>60), or have a much thinner dermal layer.

Only liposuction of the neck and a surgical neck lift or facelift can produce a quick result in two weeks. There is usually considerable swelling and bruising for the first two weeks, or so, with these surgical procedures.  Radiofrequency energy can be delivered through a thermal probe underneath the skin with ThermiTight and this can make a better neck and lifted face but it takes months to see the result. In fact, there is continued improvement and the results are usually not seen for at least three to six months after the ThermiTight procedure.  It has been recognized nationally, as well as in my NYC practice that ThermiTight results improve over 18 months. Without surgery it is nice to know that a great result can occur, but it definitely is not seen in two weeks.  The best is to schedule the ThermiTight as soon as possible to have as much time before the reunion to see the younger neck and face.

Thermitight is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed in the office. The results are impressive but take at least three months to be seen. The skin tightening effects and collagen remodeling take time.  Improvement in skin tightening will be seen through 12 to 18 months post procedure.
