Should I get braces if I travel often (as in reside in multiple locations) with no access to a consistent orthodontist?

I am a college student who attends an college out-of-state and works in the summer in neither my home state or college state. Is having consistent orthodontist care imperative? Can I begin my care in one place and transfer as I move around? Will it cost more to transfer care?

no, this is not a good idea. This may cost you a lot of money and very poor prognosis. You should start and finish with only one practice. If you travel a lot, it is better to get treatment by invisalign approach, since you can always get some extra trays with you when you travel

Lack of consistent care is a major problem in extended treatment time.  For this reason I have always been hesitant about putting braces on a college student who lives out of town...what happens if they break something a week after they see me?Invisalign (if you could be treated with it) is a great way to deal with this problem since most "emergencies" can be dealt with long distance and you can always just hold at any stage of treatment until you get to see the doctor
