Sclerotherapy on leg veins - is this part of the normal healing process? (Photo)

Normally, it takes up to 2 months before full results can be seen after a sclerotherapy session. Veins usually look worse before they look better and these changes are expected.Overall improvement per session is expected to be 50-75% each time. In general, most patients may need between 2 to 6 sclerotherapy sessions. According to how the patient reacts, vein doctor can adjust treatment plan if necessary. If another session is necessary, it is wise to wait 2 months to treat again, no earlier.

We counsel patients to expect bruising to be noticeable for about 2-3 weeks after treatment, which is just how long most bruising on the legs looks. You should see improvement over the next 10-12 weeks. Good luck!

Your posted pictures lok like a normal respone to sclerotherapy.  Sclerotherapy will look worse before it looks better and I recommend waiting 6 weeks between tretments to allow time for the treated areas to heal before the next session.  Also sclerotherapy is a process and may take multiple treatments to achieve a good result.
