The appearance of an early dorsal hump after rhinoplasty can be seen from a variety of issues including:- failure to remove dorsal hump- this can occur if the surgeon did not remove enough dorsal hump. - pseudo hump formation- some patients will have a slight elevation along the junction of the upper lateral cartilage and bone which can be present for a few months. This swelling may feel like bone but actually disappear around the 6 month mark gradually.-callous formation- some noses can form a small amount of healing tissue along the bony cartilaginous junction called callous tissue. This tissue can be removed with a minimally invasive procedure in the office.-poor tip support- some noses which have not been supported properly in the tip can drop and the nose can form a hump based on this phenomenom.

Although you are early, I would return to your surgeon for an exam. The nose can be swollen for up to a year or more. There are several places where a hump can form after a rhinoplasty is performed. From looking at your picture, this bump is in the are of the supra tip (right above the tip). This is called a pollybeak deformity. This can either be soft (from soft tissue swelling) or hard (from the dropping of your nasal tip. I recommend you visit your surgeon for an evaluation.

If a large hump was removed, there can be significant post-op swelling. Your surgeon should be able to diagnose this by pressing gently on your bridge. Swelling can be treated with cortisone. Scar tissue or cartilage may require a touchup-but time will tell.

Though you did not post before photos you have a "supra-tip" deformity, severe. This was a surgical mistake. You need immediate revision.
