I’m planning on getting chin and lip filler. How can i make the filler last longer and what can i do to make my lips more plump after the filler?
Answer: Longer Lasting Filler Results Hello Intellectual887537! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. This is a great question. With dermal fillers, there are certain things that patient's cannot control including metabolism. Patient's with higher metabolisms will experience shorter filler results because their bodies will break the filler compound down faster than those with slower metabolisms. However, a great way to prolong your fillers is to not put them under stress or pressure. I recommend patient's to sleep on their back, as this removes pressure that will dissipate and agitate the filler. Be gentle with your skin, and don’t scrub or push on your face during your skincare routine. When you move and poke fillers, they will break down faster, so the more delicate you are with your fillers, the longer they will last. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Filler Duration Hello, hope you are well. For the chin filler, it depends on the material that is used. You can ask your provider to use Radiesse or a similar dermal filler that is resorbed very slowly and has a semi-permanent effect. Lip fillers are all hyaluronic acid based with similar resorption profiles--the options are much more limited because the texture needs to be just right. The 'plumpness' depends on how much filler is placed--not what you do afterward. If you want a more permanent lip augmentation there are in-office procedures for that (implants, tissue grafting, etc). Best,Dr. Tower

Answer: Lip Augmentation Results with Injectable Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella), Implants or Fat, NovaThreads Volbella, Restylane, and Juvederm are good fillers to use to create a symmetrical lip. NovaThreads can also be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. Technique will be important here, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
