How much weight should I lose to reduce my breast size?

I am 5 foot tall, 107 pounds and wear a 32/30 F. I am 19 so hopefully they will not get any larger. I was wondering how much weight I would have to lose to go down a few cup sizes. My back has recently started hurting but I'm not sure if I damaged it as a gymnast or if I can blame my cup size. I think that my large breasts are ruining my quality of life and have taken away my confidence. Is reduction surgery the only way to reduce size significantly?

Patients with very large breasts usually have a significant glandular component to the breast mound which is resistant to any weight loss. More than likely the only solution to your problem is breast reduction.

Thank you very much for your question.It is unlikely that you losing weight will significantly affect your breast size.  I think a breast reduction would benefit you tremendously, as you mention they are ruining your quality of life.  I recommend finding a plastic surgeon who is in your insurance network and going in for a consultation.  Best of luck!

Losing weight does not always correlate in the reduction of a breast.  Many breasts are more parenchymal than fat especially in  a young person.
