It depends on how large your skin cancer is..It also depends on whether or not a reconstruction is performed. Reconstructed defects heal quicker than if it isn't reconstructed. It has been my experience that legs heal much slower when compared toother areas of the body like the chest or the face. This is because legs are farther away fromthe heart and therefore the blood supply is not as profound. I have found that patients who have Mohssurgery on lower extremities that are repaired with sutures heal best when theyreduce pressure and tension to the area and this often means using crutches fora period of time so it doesn’t split open. It is best to consult with your Mohs surgeon and follow theirpost-procedural instructions.
