Does this look like rosacea? (photo)

Question

Around 5-6 months post accutane. When I got off accutane my skin was great, no unusual redness. About 2 months ago I started waking up with red cheeks, however this would fade after an hour or so. Now this redness is there when I wake up and persists 24 hours of the day and gets much worse after exercise and other known rosacea triggers. There are little bumps which I think may be causing the redness I'm not sure. My dermatologist said this was not rosacea, however I disagree

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. For rosacea, I like a combination approach, using lasers (ProYellow, Pulsed Dye/Vbeam, Excel V), peels and botox to the cheeks. This makes dramatic changes in color and symptoms. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hello and thank you for your question and photo. Although it is difficult to provide an accurate diagnosis from a photo, I do see redness on your cheek. There are several skin disorders that can cause redness, including rosacea. And there are many effective treatments to minimize redness. I would recommend a consultation with a board certified dermatologist for evaluation of your skin and discussion of appropriate treatment. Best of luck.
