How soon can I start Accutane (for acne) after an alarplasty?

I have an alarplasty scheduled next month and planning on taking Accutane afterwards. I’ve read on here that it’s usually suggested to wait 3 months, but this wouldn’t be a full rhinoplasty. I'm Asian and have slightly thicker nostrils. How long should I wait to take Accutane?

You can take Accutane as soon as one month after surgery if the incisions are healed. In fact the Accutane might help improve the overall appearance by reducing thickness related to the sebaceous glands.

There is a week association between isotretsinoin and poor wound healing. This is the reason why we do not recommend elective surgeries on people who are on Accutane. I believe once you're alarplasty is healed, you can start the isotretinoin. Please get a definitive answer from your dermatologist. Wishing you well. Sincerely, Dr Joseph
