I'm in a rather unique situation...I had a facelift just over 2 weeks ago and my surgeon doesn't really give many instructions + I'm also only going to be seeing her every month or so for the remainder of my follow-ups as I will soon be living in a different location. My surgeon doesn't think they are needed, but I'm also really not happy with my surgeon's office (they are very rushed/not caring) so I'm hoping some of the surgeons on here could offer some advice. Thanks so much!

Answer: Support garment after facelift I have my patients wear a support garment after facelift full time for the first three days, then at night for a week. After that it is optional. Typically the garments are washable, each surgeon will have a preference for which ones they prefer for their patients to use.

Answer: Post op care after a facelift We suggest our patients wear a gentle wrap for about a week the first week, then for the second week only in the evenings. After a few weeks, its not necessary, unless it makes you feel better when you wear it. I am sure your surgeon gave you post op instructions that explain, as we all have a different set of post op care requirements. For example, we offer lymphatic massage to our patients and Red LED therapy to also improve the healing process post op and suggest a silicone based scar gel and sunscreen to apply over the incision lines after two weeks.
