Breast reductions, reposition the nipple and remove excess heavy breast tissue and skin. The amount removed depends partly upon patient's desired final size. If breasts are left too large after reduction, weight changes or patient has poor skin quality, the breast may sag again- usually to a lesser degree.
Based on your pictures it looks like you can benefit from a breast lift with reduction, an in person consultation would be best for a detailed exam and evaluation. Always see a board certified PS
200 grams removed would be about a cup size smaller than you are or what you wear. Keep in mind that pregnancy and/or significant weight change can alter your surgical results.Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author
It is hard to predict what the overall bra cup will be as cup size does not always match volume removed. You would have to be examined in person to get an idea of the possible volume that might be removed. I will often use a lollipop incision to minimize incisions. Best of luck.
Removing 200 grams may not be enough to mitigate against future sagging. Keep in mind that, if you gain weight as you age, this could put you back to your current starting point. The use of photos during a consultation would be beneficial. A 200-400 gram reduction would typically not be covered by insurance in New York.
Thank you for your question and for providing the photographs. A breast reduction almost always includes a significant lift. You would benefit from this. Typically, bra cup sizes change every 100-150cc. So if 200 grams is removed, you will probably be one cup size smaller, possibly 2 cup sizes. Whether or not you would think that is small is subjective. Sometimes in the office I show a patient a 200cc implant and a 400cc one (grams = cc). That way you can tell what that amount of volume is and it makes it easier to visualize the postop size. Keep in mind that the more weight that is removed from the breast, usually the better long-term result one gets in terms of maintaining the lift. Breasts that need a lift are prone to sagging again, although you should not sag to the same degree you have now. In cases such as yours, patient with significant sagging, I typically use Galaflex to try and maintain the result longterm. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question.Removing 200g will take down your breast size by a cup size. You are currently a size 34C, and I wonder whether a breast uplift (mastopexy) will be more appropriate in your case rather than a breast reduction.I would suggest you have a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon who performs breast surgery on a regular basis for an up to date advice.Kind regards.
Hi, and thank you for the questionBased on the information and photos you send us, you are a great candidate for a breast reduction, it is really difficult to calculated the amount of tissue removal based on a photo, because the consistensy and distribution between fat and breast tissue need to be taken in account. but i really think you can have a great result. As you can understand studies and test are needed to see if you are clear for surgery but in general, if you seek the attention of a certified plastic surgeon, you should have a great result and a normal life. So feel free to contact us for further evaluation. Thank you again and have a great day
We usually use general anesthesia for breast reduction, but it's done as outpatient in almost all of the cases that we do.
First off, congratulations on your breast reduction surgery, Virgo4444! It’s only been two days since your breast reduction surgery, so it’s normal to experience a lot of swelling in your upper body. It’s going to subside in the next three months or so, and may even persist for up to six month...
I would not recommend using nail polish remover on your incisions. I would try gently wiping with a soft cloth while showering then putting some aloe or other skin lotion to soften the glue. If the glue begins to lift off, you can peel it carefully. Hydrocortisone creme may help with the...
