There is a reason that most practitioners won't treat pregnant women with anything except the necessary procedures and it's that it's not worth the risk. While there might not be enough evidence to prove that RF needling is harmful to baby, it is always better to err on the side of caution. The last thing mother or doctor would want is to risk mother or baby's health and have to say "What if?" Wait until baby is delivered before undergoing any cosmetic treatments.BestAnil Shah MD
HI,While there is no direct negative effect on pregnancy with RF microneedling, you will not find many practitioners willing to perform an elective cosmetic procedure on a patient while pregnant. An addition important reason to wait until after delivery is that your skin does undergo changes while pregnant with some women getting melasma/chloasma. It'd almost be a waste of money and time to do these treatments during pregnancy. Wait until post delivery for your skin to settle, then see what treatments you'd need to address those skin concerns. Best,Dr. Huo
I love this procedure but I absolutely would not do microneedling or any other cosmetic procedure such as this while pregnant. The microneedling can allow your skin areas that could potentially let bacteria in and get infected. I would avoid any of these types of procedures with needles until after you give birth. Most specialists will say no based upon absolute safety during pregnancy. Best to wait post partum. Microneedling RF is an extension of microneedling with ‘energy’. Generation one devices such as Dermapen/ Skin Pen etc. use needles without heat to remodel collagen. Generation Two devices are microneedles that are not insulated, hence heat is delivered along the length of needles. Examples include Secret RF and Intensif. Generation Three devices use insulated needles to deliver heat at the point of the needle. Examples include Infini RF, as well as Genius. Newer generation devices will generally give better outcomes, however with insulation, the safety of microneedling RF devices is usually better than generation two machines. With insulation the incidence of skin colour darkening and ‘grids’ secondary to ‘stamping’ is less, however it is largely technique dependent. Microneedling RF should be viewed as a tool to be incorporated in the suitable clinical context. As with most other ‘fractional technology’ 3-5 sessions spaced 3-6 weeks apart will give the best results. Be guided by your specialist. All the best, Dr Davin Lim and the team at Clinic CutisBrisbane. Australia.
While this is one of my favorite cosmetic treatments, I would wait until after delivery before scheduling your microneedling treatment. Many things cannot be offered to pregnant women because there is no hard evidence that it is "safe. " It is always best to err on the side of caution while you are growing your little one. Commonly topical lidocaine cream is used to numb the face prior to the procedure and this is not recommended during pregnancy.
All good, in fact you can even have laser with doxycycline. This is because the action spectrum for photo reactions lie in the long wave UVA band. Laser are past this action spectrum. There is no interaction with doxycycline / antibiotics. Dr Davin S. Lim, Brisbane. Australia.
If the skin is already tanned it is okay to do microneedling. After microneedling we suggest that you stay out of the sun as the skin that was treated with the needles may hyperpigment. Tanned skin is damaged skin. Please use sun protection.
There is nothing as effective as Morpheus8 RF with PRP at building collagen in the face and neck. Add Defenage serum and retinA and you have the very best .
