Improvement in acne scarring and pigmentation is not seen until after a few sessions performed 4 weeks apart.
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several weeks. Results can continue to improve up 6 months after the treatment. Some patients require a single treatment once a year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced out 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with more significant skin-care concerns such as acne scars and pigment it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.
I normally recommend a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart from each other in order to gain the most optimal results, however, see a board-certified dermatologist for a consultation to determine the amount of treatments and to track your progress.
Thanks for the great question! Microneedling with PRP is a great way to improve your skin's texture (it smooths the skin), reduce pigmented lesions (spots typically lighten), reduce the depth of fine lines, wrinkles & scars, and improve skin tone. Microneeding w/ PRP works by creating tiny holes or "channels" in the skin that your body views as micro-injuries. The body's response to this micro-injury is to begin synthesizing collagen to heal the tissue. PRP amplifies this result by supplying needed growth factors to aid in & optimize healing. It is best to complete a series of treatments for maximal results (we typically recommend a series of 3), although you can often see a difference after just one treatment. It's not uncommon for the skin to undergo some light peeling after a microneedling treatment- so the first improvement you can see is an improvement in texture. Remember that building collagen takes time, and your final result post-microneedling will come several weeks after the procedure. Additional treatments ensure that your skin's collagen network is robust, and will yield more impressive results. As with most aesthetic collagen-stimulating procedures, we are not immune to the aging process, so yearly maintenance is required to maintain optimal results. Health & Happiness, Dr. Hester
Microneedling is a great technique for scar reduction and collagen stimulation. It is usually performed in a series of three or more done every three or four weeks. It takes six to eight weeks to develop new collagen fiber so it is not possible to see tangible results after one session.
Hi Texasbelle, It's actually not what you should put on your face but what you shouldn't that matters.A week before microneedling, refrain from using retinols, glycoic acids, AHA, BHA, astringents or Vit.C. Also stay off blood thinners and antioxidants. You can't do microneedling if you are p...
Thanks for your question and posting a picture. Sorry to hear about the difficulty of this situation. Based on your picture, you need a device that targets vascular lesions. After a consultation in a medical setting, you would probably be a candidate for either IPL PhotoFacial or Pulse Dye La...
Hi ChinTroubles,You can microneedle different parts of the body in the same appointment but the total size should be limited to 8 x 11 incles. Several areas won't affect the healing or the effectiveness of the procedure. It is limited because we use numbing when performing microneedling and we ...
