Can regular PRP treatments stop hair loss for a life time? (Photos)

Question

I'm an 18 year old suffering from genetic hair loss I've lost very little hair on the side can prp alone bring back the hair or should I consider small fue hair transplant and then continue with prp to prevent further hair loss and keep the hair I have forever I know it's not a cure for baldness but regular will make the hair thicker so practically I can keep the hair I have forever through regular prp right ?

PRP can  decrease hair shedding, increase the thickness of hair shafts , increase the speed of hair growth  and possibly regrow hair that has been lost for three to five years. It does NOT block the formation of DHT.  Therefore , PRP alone will not  control androgenic alopecia.  The combination of PRP,  minoxidil,  Propecia and low level laser  are effective at supporting healthy hair. In my opinion, it is not possible to determine if this will totally control your hair loss, presently and in the future. 18 years old is too young to determine if you're a transplant candidate. PRP won’t stop genetic hair loss for life but may help slow it down. FUE is never a good option for a young male under 25. Be sure to review carefully with several physicians.

Your are correct, to date we do not have a cure for hair loss.  We have great treatments to slow the progression.  Minoxidil is our baseline treatment as it keeps hair in the growing phase.  PRP is a great adjunct, as it provides nutrients to the hair follicles.  Because there is not a cure, you will need to continue these treatments as maintenance.  Minoxidil is recommended daily to twice a day.  Three-4 PRP treatments are needed initially and then maintenance treatments approximately 6 months apart will be needed.  These nonsurgical treatments will help sustain your hair.  Later, a transplant may be needed.

PRP and Rogaine and Propecia are an excellent way to thicken hair and maintain volume. It will not work on areas of the scalp where you have completely lost your hair and are bald.  For your case the best treatment would be a combination of the above to maintain and prevent future hair loss.  Please consult an expert in PRP and hair loss. PRP does not work on areas that are completely bald. For bald areas hair transplant is the treatment of choice However once hair transplant has been performed regular PRP will be helpful.PRP is a good treatment for thinning hair. As long as you are treated with PRP on a regular basis it should help long term.
