How long should I wait between PicoSure tattoo removal sessions?

Your question is a very interesting and controversial one.
There is no ideal, agreed-upon wait time between treatments, because the issue has not been studied extensively. So many factors probably influence the perfect treatment interval time (e.g. laser type, ink type, skin type, individual physiologic factors, tattoo location, etc.) that there will probably never be one magic number for all cases.
One thing is probably true: longer rests are better--but within reason. I have had patients sit out pregnancies and come back looking like they'd had 3 treatments while they were gone. There's no doubt in my mind that treatments (and money) could be saved by waiting; but until the issue is studied carefully, we'll never know where the money-saving/ink-removing "sweet spot" is.
So... 6 weeks, or 12 weeks? They're both right. Trying to qualify for military or law enforcement? Go 6 weeks. Not in a hurry? Go 12 (or more).

Thanks for your question.  Patience is the key for our patients.  We have been performing PicoSure laser tattoo removal for almost 3 years.  We typically see our tattoo removal patients every 8 to 12 weeks initially.  Your tattoo removal progress is really determined by your metabolism.  Lasers can only break up the ink into smaller particles.  It's up to your body's lymphatic systems ability to carry it away.  By your 4th treatment, we recommend waiting 4-6 months between treatments.  The laser manufacturers recommend 6 weeks as the MINIMUM amount of time between treatments.  Best of luck.
